Oh man, plain boring journal entry! I haven't had anything to write about on here in forever...
Well, my daughter recently turned two in October. She's a precocious little thing, and keeps me on my toes! Now that she's older, I can get some things done on my laptop while she plays with her toys. While I'm writing this, she is eating a piece of toast with cinnamon while Superman and Princess Jasmine are having an epic battle in a jungle treehouse playset. [Or maybe it's a domestic dispute... in which case, someone should notify the Justice League. <_<]
So... this means I'm starting to draw again! Somewhat, ha ha.
I am trying to teach myself how to use a tablet. Again. It's try eleventy billion, but it seems to be working better than before. I am making my old stubborn brain finally learn a new thing! Bwa ha ha ha! >
I started on the whole tablet quest because my mouse broke. I had bought my husband a tablet as a present a few Christmases ago, but he was never able to pick it up. [Disillusioned Tablet User Syndrome--he thought a tablet would improve his drawing, but it set him backwards because it was a new tool he had to learn. A lot of people fall prey to this; I've tried to learn how to use the damn things forever, knowing this, and still got frustrated!]
I was working on a project, my first major project since, well, since before I started doing contract work, honestly. [Which was well before the baby.] Contract work kept me super busy. I was so busy that I only remember half of those three years--the rest were a blur. I needed to keep going on my current project though, and my mouse crapped out at a critical moment. So I pulled the tablet out and started fiddling with it.
I didn't finish the picture with it. I ended up buying a new mouse a few days later. But, my experience with it this time wasn't as bad as the previous ones. Since it was close to the new year, I decided to make that my resolution--2015 would be the year I finally conquered that damn tablet!
So far, I have drawn some passable pictures with it. They're not at all like my earlier attempts, which is good! Progress. Yessss~
[You'll see a few in my gallery even now.]
Anyway, my announcement is that I finally got up off my butt, and redid my
Atlantis: The Visionary Continent series. I have turned it into a series of Light Novels, and the first volume is going up for sale very soon! Like, within the next month or two soon. Exciting! For now, you can find my blog from the
FeatherBand Digital Press homepage, and read the first two chapters online. I am really excited about this! I am already a few chapters into the second book, so if I stay on a similar schedule as the first book, Volume 2 should release sometime this summer. Even if you read the original short stories I posted on here [which have been removed] you should take a look--everything has been revamped and redone, and it has turned out wonderfully. There are a few color pictures, and a handful of greyscale images throughout the story that helps bring it to life. If the e-book sells well enough it may be available for purchase in a dead tree version, but I don't want to get ahead of myself, ha ha!
So, if you've been missing me [Aww! <3] then definitely follow me on my blog, or follow the
Atlantis: TVC Facebook Page. I hope to post more here as well, but I don't know if I will be able to until things settle a bit. But still... exciting!
