Description

Anyone who is a fan of Terry Pratchett and his Discworld novels knows that he has been diagnosed with a rare form of Alzheimer's Disease. The Pratchett fan community has started "Wear the Lilac", a campaign to wear a sprig of lilac on the 25th of May for Alzheimer's Awareness. This coincides with an incident from one of Pratchett's books, "Night Watch" in which the main characters wear a sprig of lilac on the 25th of May in remembrance of a great revolution, and a fallen comrade-in-arms.

I think this is a great movement, and I made this lilac image in honor of it. I plan on posting it on the 25, in lieu of wearing one [because I have no lilac, and I don't go anywhere...>_>]
I'm not sure if the deep purple ribbon is part of it, but I added it because it looks nice and balances the picture.

Remember the Glorious Twenty-fifth of May and the Revolution the People's Republic of Treacle Mine Road for Truth! Justice! Freedom! Reasonably priced Love! And a Hard-Boiled Egg! The day when the angry masses rose up, threw off their shekels and did the job they didn't have to do... and died doing it. Lead by John Keel they fought for those who'd been abandoned and they fought for one another. They are commemorated with a huge wreath of lilac flowers, bound with purple ribbon, On top of it, tied round with another piece of purple ribbon, was an egg. Remember how they rise up.
